Job summary

Naval Education and Training Command is seeking a financial management specialist to advise on DoD regulations and related directives, explain ERP and FIAR controls, and support budget-related programs.

The role involves responding to audits, evaluating DPAS implementation, and identifying issues across financial systems to ensure accountability and compliance. Strong knowledge of DoD processes and property accountability is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09/07 level depending on grade.
• Experience advising on inventory of plant and minor property; managing and tracking an inventory of value and pilferable items.
• Prepare guidance for local practices to remove property from government records and hold accountability.
• Schedule and coordinate required inventories.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on DoD Financial Management Regulations and related directives.
• Explain ERP, funds allocation, funds status, and FIAR controls impacting budgeting.
• Respond to external audits (FMB, GAO) of policies, procedures, and records.
• Evaluate methods to resolve issues with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
• Identify problems using various financial management systems.
