Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Cost Estimator to support critical Department of Defense acquisition programs. This role will develop, analyze, and evaluate cost estimates to support program planning, budgeting, and acquisition decisions.

The ideal candidate will have experience with DoD acquisition and cost estimating processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for program leadership.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• 3+ years of Cost Estimating experience in a DoD setting.
• Familiar with Air Force cost estimation practices.
• Strong finance background.
• Analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Use of routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation.
• Analyze elements affecting costs for project scope and weapon systems.
• Determine the appropriate phase of the budgetary cycle to initiate programs.
• Analyze contractor financial data using EVM measures to assess viability.
• Use ACEIT Suite for program office estimates and analyses.
• Comply with DoD and AF guidance, publications, and regulations.
