Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is seeking a Contract Specialist to manage post-award actions, determine milestones, and oversee contract administration for a variety of goods and services. You will evaluate requests, finalize changes, and ensure compliance with complex terms and conditions.

This role requires DoD contracting knowledge, strong written communication, and effective negotiation with vendors and government partners to ensure successful procurements and performance over long-term

Qualifications

• Applying contracting principles, laws, statutes and procedures to pre-award and post-award actions to procure and administer contracts.
• Understanding federal contract methods and contract types with knowledge of policy, procedures, and evaluation methods.
• Using negotiation techniques with private sector representatives and government managers to procure contracts.
• Communicating through written communications and discussions with vendors/customers.

Responsibilities

• Determine milestones to administer assigned contracts.
• Evaluate post-award requests and determine appropriate action.
• Make final determinations on delivery schedule changes, waivers, deviations, price revisions, etc.
• Administer contracts with special handling provisions and unique terms/conditions.
• Attend pre-award negotiations.
• Prepare solicitations for contract negotiations.
• Evaluate vendor submissions to bids.
