Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Data Engineer to support the Navy SMIT program, delivering the backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport.

The role focuses on building resilient data pipelines, testing frameworks, and collaboration with data owners, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams to ensure SLAs and secure, scalable production services.

Qualifications

• US citizen with active DoD Secret clearance.
• Located in or able to work onsite at Navy Base in Hampton Roads, VA.
• 3+ years building/operating production data pipelines and data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across enterprise data sources.
• Develop data models and curated datasets for analytics and reporting.
• Implement data Quality checks, monitoring, and incident response for data flows.
• Collaborate with BI, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams to meet SLAs.
• Document architecture, data lineage, and runbooks; support platform upgrades.
