Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Software-Systems Engineer for an onsite role in Huntsville, Alabama, supporting the Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) program. The role focuses on software SME duties across multiple high-visibility ASE programs, coordinating analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and documentation to ensure interoperability and mission success.

Qualifications

• DoD software development life cycle understanding.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Experience with Agile software development methodology.
• DoD acquisition project management experience (preferred).
• Clearance: Active Secret DoD Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide software knowledge and program management support for ASE products.
• Assist in analysis, design, development, integration, training, testing, documentation, implementation, operation, and support of complex systems.
• Provide briefings on software development status.
• Understand system interfaces and interoperability with external systems.
• Facilitate Agile software planning with vendors.
• Review vendor software CDRLs and artifacts (e.g., SDP, requirements, design docs, test plans).
• Support SRR/PDR/CDR design reviews as a SW SME for ASE engineering.
• Test and verify interoperability between systems.
• Understand software requirements of the system.
• Work with vendors on capabilities and performance requirements.
• Analyze user needs to determine feasible solutions.
• Assess software impact on system use and installation.
• Provide overarching software/product team support.
• Support software growth efforts (FACE, MOSA, MBSE).
• Resolve highly complex problems using advanced technical knowledge.
