Union Home Mortgage Corp. is seeking a detail-oriented Publications Intern to join the L.E.A.D Internship Program at headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.

You will collaborate with managers and subject-matter experts to create internal documentation and support the Publications team's training materials. The role emphasizes strong English grammar, high attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Word.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ higher education in English, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • Experience with Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Managers and Subject-Matter-Experts across the organization to create internal documentation and maintain its accuracy.
  • Develop, edit, and format guides, checklists, and other reference documents for Partners to utilize in their day-to-day workflows according to UHM’s branding and copyright standards.
  • Participate in the execution of scheduled document audits for quality control testing.
  • Assist with creating monthly bulletins, company-wide memorandums, and other communications.
  • Assist with maintaining version control and tracking records of all published internal documents in accordance with UHM document retention and distribution policies.
  • Participate in weekly Training huddles and Publications huddles.

Job description

Union Home Mortgage’s L.E.A.D Internship Program’s goal is to provide a fun, interesting, and real-world environment for our interns to Learn about the industry, be Educated by Sr. Leadership and their peers, Achieve their personal goals and Develop their skills and knowledge base. We pride ourselves in providing innovative programs for our interns in order for them to learn and grow they progress through their careers. Some of the programs we offer include: shadowing, mentoring, professional development, group projects and we even take our interns on corporate outings! Our internship program gives students a chance to meet new people, gain more experience, and learn from the best in the business! Our interns are treated like full-time Partners who work 40 hours a week during the 3-month summer program, are compensated, and based out of headquarters in Strongsville, Ohio.

This position will be responsible for working alongside UHM’s Publications team to develop and edit training manuals, policies, and procedures for Partners across the country. The role requires expertise in English grammar and syntax, as well as high attention to detail and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word.

Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Professional phone, email, chat, and screen-sharing skills.

  • Quick to learn new technologies and applications for creating documents.
  • Willingness to learn and train independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe products, including Word and Acrobat.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ higher education in English, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Education in and/or experience with Chicago Manual of Style.
