Job summary

National Oilwell Varco seeks a Documentation Specialist to create and manage project documentation for NOV Rig Technologies. You will compile and produce reports, liaise with multiple internal departments and vendors, and ensure proper hard and electronic documentation is archived and shipped as needed.

The role requires 2–5 years in documentation with strong attention to detail, solid communication, and familiarity with traceability and document control practices. On-site work in Houston, USA.

Qualifications

Education & Experience Qualifications

• High School or associate degree with 2-5 years of experience in documentation.

Behavioral Competencies

Technical Competencies

• MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create, compile, and produce applicable documentation.
• Communicate with internal Departments and Vendors.
• Create hard copies and electronic copies of the applicable department documentation.
• Ship applicable documentation if necessary.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Create Disassembly and Inspection Reports based on the dispositions provided by technicians.
• Retrieve traceability data by communicating with planning and production departments.
• Retrieve evidentiary documentation (router packets) from various departments and scan and upload digital copies in document management system.
• Generate Final Documentation (Databook) for remanufacturing projects of NOV equipment per IADC guidelines.
• Work with internal quality assurance reviewers to meet IADC requirements.
• Work with product engineering and compliance team to retrieve historic technical data and survey reports.
• Identify potential improvement opportunities within the applicable systems and work with relevant departments on such improvements.
• Pursue continuous improvement in its own activities and operations.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
• Must be able to work without sponsorship now and in the future.
