Job Description

This role serves as a primary support source for the Health System, which includes 8 Acute Care Hospitals, all Baptist Outpatient Services (over 50 locations), and all ambulatory surgical centers. Responsibilities include identifying and correcting analysis errors to ensure facilities maintain complete and accurate medical records according to Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, TJC, and CMS standards. The role involves reviewing health information requests for RAC and other regulatory agencies, ensuring all necessary documents are present, and compiling signature logs to secure reimbursement. Additionally, monitoring and analyzing EHR data for trend analysis, process improvement, and compliance with policies, regulations, and AHIMA guidelines are key components. The position requires working as part of a team to meet individual and departmental goals. The estimated pay range is $16.00 - $18.84 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, certification, training, or relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field.
  • Certification such as RHIT or RHIA preferred.
  • Minimum two years of acute care medical record analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Familiarity with health information systems, database management, spreadsheets, and computer technology.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and decision-making abilities in a high-volume setting.
  • Typing speed of 25 wpm and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within instructions and routines.
Minimum Experience

Two years of relevant acute care experience.
