Description:
Serves as a primary support for the Health System, including 8 Acute Care Hospitals, all Baptist Outpatient Services (over 50 locations), and ambulatory surgical centers. Responsibilities include identifying and correcting analysis errors to ensure complete and accurate medical records in compliance with Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, TJC, and CMS standards. Reviews health information requests for RAC and other regulatory agencies, ensuring necessary documentation and signature logs for reimbursement. Monitors and analyzes EHR data to trend outcomes for process improvement, optimize EHR use, and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and AHIMA guidelines. Works as part of a team to meet individual and departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, certification, training, or experience.
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Prefer Certified Record Health Information Technician (RHIT) and/or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience in medical record analysis.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Knowledge of health information systems, database management, spreadsheet design, and computer technology.
- Ability to organize work priorities, pay attention to details, and make good decisions in a high-volume, high-production setting.
- Typing speed of 25 wpm and passing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint tests.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, maintain a positive attitude, and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions and routines.
