Job summary

Crane Co. is seeking a Document Control Technician to manage and organize the company’s documents, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and adherence to records retention. You will retrieve, prepare, and archive documentation packages from suppliers, customers, and employees, supporting audits and customer needs.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and familiarity with MS Office; it also supports quality initiatives under IATF 16949 and related standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in business/engineering/QA or related field.
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity.
  • Self-directed, independent thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication across all levels of staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills for timely project completion.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, maintain, and improve company’s document program.
  • Prepare customer documentation (e.g., 3.1’s, MT Reports, etc.).
  • Manage the document change control program.
  • Maintain the Document Record Database and Web_Certs Folder.
  • Ensure customer documents are uploaded to required portals.
  • Review final customer documentation for compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal owners on special requirements and with external inspectors.
  • Support quality improvements per IATF 16949 2016 and related standards.
