Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Document Control Specialistto be based out of Jersey City, NJ at our light-rail operation and maintenance project.

Become a part of a dynamic, fast-growing player in Heavy Construction. Shimmick is a national Contractor that has an excellent reputation within the industry and is seeking a qualified individual to join our Southwest Division. Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilites include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Works under limited supervision.
  • May take on several components of a project. Provides document management and project controls support which includes the receipt, inventory, audit, tracking, storage, retrieval and distribution of both classified and unclassified electronic, paper and other media project data and documents according to company policy, and proper procedures for the projects.
  • Manages the set up and maintenance of document control / records management for the project and Project Manager.
  • Ensures that all local practices and activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the transportation industry

Additional Information:

  • Relocation benefits are not available with this position.

The salary range for this position is $93,600.00per year depending on experience and/or education.

The Company also provides employer paid Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, basic life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and an Employee Assistance Program. These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
