Job summary

Hayden Industrial is seeking a Cost Accountant with strong document control experience. The role focuses on analyzing, monitoring, and controlling costs, updating standard costs, and ensuring accurate inventory valuation to support informed management decisions.

The position requires coordination with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, using MS Office and document management systems to maintain controlled documents, adhere to ISO 9001 practices, and support audits.

Qualifications

  • Create, revise, issue, archive, and retire controlled documents.
  • Ensure only current approved revisions are available for use.

  • Control revision history and change records.
  • Manage document retention according to company policy.

  • MTR / RGA related activities.

Overview:

Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking a Cost Accountant. This role is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and controlling costs. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. This role helps management make informed decisions by preparing cost reports, tracking production expenses, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, updating standard costs, and ensuring accurate inventory valuation.

  • Ensure only current approved revisions are available for use.
  • Maintain document numbering conventions and naming standards.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of document control, quality assurance, records management, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of document control systems, revision management, and document retention practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements and controlled document processes preferred.
  • Experience creating, revising, issuing, archiving, and maintaining controlled documents.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with document management systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Supervisor Responsibility:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, scanners, copiers, and document management systems. The Document Control Specialist will work closely with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments to maintain and manage controlled documentation. When entering the manufacturing facility, employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA‑compliant safety boots/shoes. The role may require periodic visits to production areas to verify document usage, support audits, or coordinate document changes.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently remain stationary for extended periods while reviewing, creating, updating, and maintaining electronic and hard‑copy documentation. The employee will regularly operate a computer, scanner, copier, and other office equipment. This position requires occasional movement throughout office and production areas to access files, distribute controlled documents, support audits, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

The employee may occasionally lift, carry, or move files, records, boxes, or other materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

On occasion, the employee may be required to visit the manufacturing floor, which is a non‑temperature‑controlled environment and may include exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles commonly associated with metal fabrication operations. The employee must be able to safely navigate these environments while following all company safety requirements.

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

No travel is required for this position.
