Job summary

IMI is seeking a Document Control Clerk in Houston, TX to compile and maintain control records, releasing blueprints and engineering documents to manufacturing and other departments. The role is on-site with a hybrid schedule (two days remote, three on-site) and a pay range of $20–$23 per hour.

You will work Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00, with responsibilities including data verification and document updates. Applicants should have a high school diploma (or GED), proficiency in Microsoft Office, and

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with an ERP system.
  • Experience with PDM systems is a plus.
  • Experience using microfilm machines, copiers, and fax machines.

  • Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
  • Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
  • Draft standards on document control.
  • Prepare for inside and external auditors.
  • Move and reorganize electronic files.
  • Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
  • Filing and sorting documents.

Role Overview:

The Document Control Clerk compiles and maintains control records and related files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments.

Work Environment: On-site - Houston, TX

Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examines documents such as blueprints, drawings, change orders, and specifications to verify completeness and accuracy of data
  • Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
  • Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
  • Draft standards on document control

  • Move and re-organize electronic files.
  • Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
  • Filing and sorting documents

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with an ERP (inventory, manufacturing software) system.
  • Experience with PDM (Product Data Management) systems and process a plus.
  • Experience using microfilm machines, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Hybrid schedule – two days remote, three days on-site

Pay range: $20 - $23 / hour

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
