Job summary

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a Part-time Outbound Dockworker to join our West Chester, PA team. This role safely loads and unloads freight on trailers and verifies related documentation using electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift or material handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift or pallet jack.
• Pick, stage, and secure freight inside trailers.
• Use documentation systems to track shipment locations.
• Communicate with terminal personnel and drivers.
• Maintain flexible schedule including day/night shifts and weekends.
• Provide customer-service oriented service.

Job description

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a Part-time Outbound Dockworker to join our team in West Chester, PA. This role is responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers, and verifying related documentation via the electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

• Earn $22.75 per hour. Rate will increase to $23.75 after 12 months of employment
• Start time & schedule: 5:00 PM; Monday-Friday
• Weekly pay every Friday via direct deposit

Dockworker qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Previous experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, preferred
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics preferred
• Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all company and government safety rules and regulations
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively

Dockworker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment - forklift or electric pallet jack
• Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
• Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal
• Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work
• Operating with a customer service first mentality
