Job summary

A. Duie Pyle, Inc. in Johnston, RI invites applications for a full-time Inbound Dockworker who will safely load and unload freight, verify paperwork, and operate in a warehouse environment with preferred forklift experience.

Start time is 12:00 AM, Tuesday to Saturday, with overtime after 40 hours. Pay begins at $24.30 per hour plus $0.70 shift differential, increasing to $29.00 per hour plus the differential after 12 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Prior warehousing, freight, or logistics experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading freight on trailers using forklift or pallet jack.
• Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers for safe transport.
• Using document management system to track freight locations.
• Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights; safety-first mindset.

Job description

A. Duie Pyle is seeking a full-time Inbound Dockworker to join our team in Johnston, RI. This role is responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers, and verifying related documentation via the electronic and manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred.

• Earn $24.30 per hour + $.70 shift differential. Rate will increase to $29.00 + $.70 shift differential hourly rate after 12 months of employment

• Previous experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment, preferred
• Prior experience in warehousing, freight, and/or logistics preferred
• Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all company and government safety rules and regulations
• Ability to read, write and speak English; communicate effectively

Dockworker responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment – forklift or electric pallet jack
• Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
• Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal
• Communicating with terminal personnel and drivers
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work
• Operating with a customer service first mentality
