Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is hiring for a dock/warehouse role in Grayslake, IL. You will load and unload freight from over-the-road equipment, containers, and city trailers using forklifts and pallet jacks while following safety procedures and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English to perform job tasks and complete shipping documents.
• Experience with warehouse, dock, forklift, or pallet jack is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operate dock tools to secure freight and manage straps, bars, airbags, and dunnage.
• Load, recoup, rewrap, and stack freight as needed.
• Verify shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follow bill of lading and quality control procedures to ensure timely and cost-efficient shipments.
