Overview
XGS warehouse dockworkers are responsible for loading and unloading freight by hand or using equipment such as a pallet jack or forklift, sorting products, and ensuring trailers are properly loaded. This role involves using barcode scanners and maintaining a neat and orderly dock area.
Responsibilities
- Monday-Friday, starting at 10 AM
- Pay rate of $18.49 per hour
- Unload delivery trucks into the warehouse
- Load or unload freight by hand or using tools like lift trucks and pallet jacks
- Use scanners to read barcodes on products
- Scan freight and ensure proper placement
- Follow prompts on screens for tasks
- Verify shipping information for accuracy
- Receive and store inventory
- Match merchandise with work orders
- Attach barcodes for tracking
- Update work orders and databases
- Inspect goods for damage or irregularities
- Ensure products meet quality standards
- Report damages, overages, or shortages
- Sort freight by destination
- Verify freight counts
- Maintain cleanliness of the dock area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- At least 6 months of experience
- Previous fulfillment experience preferred
- Knowledge of warehousing procedures is a plus
- Ability to interpret work orders
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Meet minimum hiring criteria
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Experience operating lift trucks or pallet jacks is desirable
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 70 pounds; pull up to 100 pounds; push up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally climb stairs
- Frequently stoop, kneel, or crouch
Environment
Most work is in a comfortable office setting, but exposure to site conditions may occur. Personal protective equipment is required in all areas. Safety precautions should be observed at all times.
