Job summary

RXO is hiring a Dockworker in New York to load, unload, and organize freight using pallet jacks and forklifts as needed. You will be part of a fast-paced logistics team focused on safe, on-time shipments.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work nights or weekends. RXO offers medical plans, a 401(k) with company match, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from trailers using pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Sort and organize freight by destination or priority.
• Inspect freight for damage and verify labeling.
• Maintain a clean, safe dock environment.
• Ensure proper handling and securement of freight.
• Communicate with dispatchers, drivers and staff to coordinate shipments.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.

As a Dockworker, you'll play a vital role in our daily operations by efficiently loading, unloading and organizing freight. What your day-to-day will look like:

• Load and unload freight from trailers using manual and powered equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts
• Sort and organize freight in the dock area according to destination or shipment priority
• Inspect freight for damage, verify labeling and documentation and report any discrepancies
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized and safe dock environment
• Ensure proper handling and securement of freight to prevent damage during transit
• Communicate with dispatchers, drivers and warehouse staff to ensure timely processing of shipments
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures during operations

At a minimum, you'll need:

• The ability to maintain a valid driver's license

It’d be great if you also have:

• Good communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
• 1-2 years of dock or warehouse experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment (certification is a plus)
