Position Details

Please note: This is a term position not-to-exceed March 31, 2028, subject to availability of funds. This position may be extended, or made permanent, without further advertising.

GS-5: To be qualified at the GS-5 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 in Federal Service.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is defined as performing various clerical/administrative support duties; performing the entry of data into the electronic file and case tracking systems; sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports; updating databases and systems to record status changes in all items docketed; assisting with conducting periodic file reviews; locating and correcting data entry errors; filing completed documents in appropriate locations; responding to inquiries; typing and formatting correspondence and forms, maintaining filing systems.

Education: Four years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the prerequisite. One year of full-time study is defined as 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) or the equivalent or 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for 36 weeks in business, secretarial or technical school.

Combination of Education and Experience: combination of specialized experience and education as described above, where when combined equal 100% of the requirements. To qualify based on a combination, college education must be in excess of 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to six months of specialized experience. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
