Responsibilities

  • Utilize the FDMS to process modal assignments following DOC workflows.
  • Assign docket numbers and process basic dockets and related documents.
  • Protect confidentiality and safeguard Personally Identifiable Information.
  • Perform routine data entry and office support tasks as needed.
  • Use MS Office Suite and DOC automation tools daily.
  • Provide reference and readers/audiovisual support to customers.
  • Support docketing operations, customer service, and DOT coordination.
  • Review legal filings for proper submission and conformity.
  • Maintain DOT docket records from preprocessing to disposition.
  • Adhere to DOC policy for timely docket processing and release.
  • Provide backup support in the absence of the Docketing Specialist.

Overview

DOCKETING ANALYST (DOCK):

Bowhead seeks a Docketing Analyst to support an upcoming client located in the DC metropolitan area. The Docketing Analyst will utilize automated management information systems and other online database services/applications to electronically capture/scan data, populate systems, retrieve data, and provide information/status updates.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize the FDMS the process modal assignments, adhering to the established daily processing standards and DOC workflows.
  • Assign docket numbers and processes basic dockets, and related documents concerning DOT proceedings and rulemakings in accordance with standard operating procedures and set workflow instructions.
  • Observe DOC work standards and confidentiality, safeguard and protect Personally Identifiable Information from unauthorized disclosure.
  • Perform routine data entry and other office support services, including creating, sorting, uploading, distributing, or filing documents.
  • Utilize MS Office Suite, MS Windows, and other DOC automation tools in daily work assignments.
  • Provide reference and readers/audiovisual service to customers.
  • Support the DOC in all docketing business operations, customer service, DOT Modal coordination.
  • Examine legal filing to ensure documents are properly submitted for proceedings; Catalog and verify documents to determine applicability and conformity.
  • Establish and maintain dockets concerning DOT proceedings and rulemakings from preprocessing documents through disposition of records, use appropriate automated management information systems to electronically capture/scan data, assure quality control, and facilitate information retrieval.
  • Follow DOC policy for timely processing and prompt release of dockets and documents.
  • Provide support in the absence of the Docketing Specialist.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent) PLUS one (1+) year of relevant experience is required. An Associates (60+ credit hours) or Bachelors degree may substitute the required work experience.
  • Professional experience with e-Rule making, legal, or financial services is highly preferred.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts and demonstrable skills in oral and written communications, examples of technical publications / conference presentations may be requested.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

Target hourly range is between $40-$48 commensurate with experience.

Salary information is a general guideline only. Bowhead considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Public Trust (NAC) level. US Citizenship is required at this location.
