Job summary

Lightning Logistics is seeking hard-working Dock Workers for a night shift in Des Moines, IA. The role involves loading and unloading freight, organizing shipments, and keeping the dock safe and efficient. Part-time hours 8pm–1am with potential overtime and benefits.

Candidates should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work in a team. Forklift certification is a plus, and Lightning Logistics will assist with certification if needed.

Qualifications

• Prior dock/warehouse experience preferred (but not required).
• Ability to lift/move up to 50-75 lbs regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and safety procedures.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Forklift certification a plus (but we can help you get certified!).
• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and environments.
• Must be able to pass a Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers and delivery vehicles.
• Sort, stage, and scan freight for accurate shipment.
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (if certified).
• Maintain a clean and safe dock area.
• Assist with inventory control and reporting.
• Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse team.
