Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines is hiring a Part-Time Dock Worker in Brownstown Charter Township, MI to load and unload freight at the dock safely and efficiently. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document freight control processes, with adherence to company procedures.

Available shifts: Mon–Fri 5:00 AM–10:00 AM and 4:00 PM–9:00 PM; starting pay is $23.95 per hour plus growth opportunities. Requirements: 18+, fluent English, ability to pass a drug screen, and legal work status in the

• Fluent in English and able to perform basic math.
• Able to pass a drug screen as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight at the dock in a safe, productive manner.
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on dock equipment.
• Document freight control processes and adhere to procedures.
• Be available for irregular schedules and shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

As a Dock Worker, you will load and unload freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner. Although DFL Dock Workers do not work inside a warehouse, you must maximize space when loading freight.

• Complete pre and post trip inspections on all dock equipment
• Properly document all freight control processes
• Participate in Dayton Freight’s training and improvement programs
• Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
• Adhere to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to perform routine physical tasks associated with dock and inspection operations, including ascending and descending from forklifts, operating forklifts and handling freight and related equipment.
