Job summary

AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. is hiring an Outbound Dock Supervisor in Cedar Rapids, IA.

You will oversee daily terminal and dock operations, ensuring safe handling, sorting, loading, and unloading of freight while leading dockworkers and shift teams. Responsibilities include enforcing OSHA and DOT compliance, conducting inspections, coaching staff on safety procedures, and using internal systems to track shipments and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, freight, dock, or logistics operations.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and safe freight-handling practices.
• Forklift certification or hazmat training preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of new-hire training, including assessments, and forklift test.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily terminal and dock operations to ensure safe handling.
• Supervise dockworkers and assign tasks to optimize labor.
• Ensure trailers are loaded/unloaded correctly.
• Monitor safety practices and ensure OSHA/DOT compliance.
• Review reports and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Lead daily shift meetings and train staff on safety.
• Track shipments using internal systems and generate reports.
• Partner with managers to meet performance goals.
