Job summary

Day & Ross is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead a team of Dock Workers and agency staff at the Shelby Township terminal, ensuring efficient operations, on-time deliveries, and top safety standards. You will drive performance, accountability, and problem-solving to meet company goals.

The role requires 3+ years in transportation/warehouse operations and strong leadership, with bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in transportation or warehouse operations.
• Proven leadership experience in transportation or related industry.
• Advanced verbal communication skills (English and Spanish are both an asset).
• Strong computer proficiency: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, web-based applications, RF scanners; TMW experience is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of industry-related equipment, including forklifts, lift jacks, trailers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily guidance, motivation, and direction to Dock Workers (including employees and agency workers) to achieve operational goals for the terminal.
• Escalate issues such as poor performance, inappropriate behavior, absenteeism, etc., to the Operations Manager for prompt resolution.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety protocols and requirements.
• Work with the Operations Manager to track and analyze monthly performance statistics for the dock.
