Job summary

Darling Ingredients in Union City, TN is seeking a route supervisor responsible for supervising route drivers, coordinating dock operations, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise route drivers and coordinate routes from dock or plant.
• Check customer route tickets weekly to ensure proper service and handle complaints until CS contact.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of dock and equipment; keep grounds clear of damaged containers.
• Operate company vehicle; maintain cleanliness; report mechanical/operational problems; may maintain DOT logbook.
• Maintain professional and courteous customer service at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years of driving experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
• Working knowledge of general vehicle maintenance.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory and route driving experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Basic mathematical skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and reaching.
• Frequently requires lifting up to 10lbs. and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or moving up to 100lbs.
• Frequent travel to off-site locations is required.
• Work is performed in company vehicles, plant/dock locations, and outdoor environments.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and others and identify potential workplace hazards.
