Job summary

FedEx Freight in Irving, TX is hiring a Dock/Freight Handler to move freight between trailers and dock areas, preparing loads for loading.

Starting pay is $21.16 per hour with 07:00–12:00 and 08:00–13:00 shifts. You will operate forklifts and hand trucks, verify freight documents, secure loads, assist customers, and perform hostling duties as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
