Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dedicated Dockworker in Albuquerque, NM. This role focuses on safe loading and unloading of freight, equipment operation, and supporting warehouse activities to ensure on-time deliveries.

The Dock Worker will use forklifts, manual handling, and straps to secure loads while adhering to DOT guidelines. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Must have working knowledge of procedures surrounding all aspects of freight transportation.
• Must have knowledge of different loading techniques such as loading tight and cross loading.
• Familiarity with forms used in freight movement such as shipping orders, manifests, freight bills and exception forms.
• Ability to monitor shipment locations using yard management systems.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack or manually in line with DOT guidelines.
• Transport self and freight across service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and related freight forms.
• Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as needed to secure it.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, or rope.
