We currently have an opportunity for a Dock Attendant to join our Pier Sixty‑Six Resort team!

Responsibilities
  • Guest-facing position that is responsible for providing a warm welcome to guests
  • Ties up vessels upon their arrival to marina
  • Checks guests in to the marina, and responds to guest needs during their stay
  • Provides onsite customer service for residence, club members and transient marina guests as well as hotel guests
  • Answers guest’s questions about the property or the surrounding area attractions.
  • Fuels vessels acting as PIC, contains and cleans up any fuel spills which occur during fueling
  • Attends annual fuel training
  • Accepts packages or arranges for deliveries to marina guests
  • Drives golf cart in tight areas.
  • Provides pump‑out to guests in the marina.
  • Patrol the docks, keeping in radio contact with the office and maintains safety standards
  • Cast off lines for departing boats and notify office of departure
  • Maintain and control ice inventory on each wharf, sell ice to customers, and notify office when supply gets low
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
  • Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while assisting guests, monitoring the dock, and performing marina‑related duties.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, including supplies, equipment, luggage, watercraft‑related items, and other materials.

  • Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push and pull carts, hoses, dock equipment, lines, and other marina equipment.

  • Bending/Reaching: Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, and stretch when handling equipment, securing vessels, or performing dock duties.

  • Climbing: Ability to safely climb and descend ladders, gangways, ramps, stairs, and vessel access points as required.

  • Balance/Coordination: Ability to maintain balance and coordination while working on docks, gangways, and other potentially uneven, wet, or moving surfaces.

  • Waterfront Environment: Ability to work safely in proximity to water and around boats, docks, ropes, cleats, hoses, and other marina equipment.

  • Mobility: Ability to move quickly and safely around the marina and respond to changing conditions, including assisting with vessel arrivals and departures.

  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to securely handle dock lines, hoses, cleaning equipment, tools, and other equipment.

  • Visual Requirements: Ability to maintain sufficient visual acuity to safely navigate the dock, identify hazards, read signage, and monitor vessels and equipment.

  • Hearing: Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions, radio communications, alarms, vessel signals, and emergency notifications.

  • Weather Exposure: Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in heat, humidity, direct sunlight, rain, wind, and other varying weather conditions.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain physical activity and alertness throughout extended shifts in a busy marina environment.

  • Emergency Response: Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established marina, water‑safety, and property emergency procedures.

  • Schedule: Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts, based on operational needs.

Qualifications
  • Must have the ability to operate golf carts
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license
  • Must have the ability to communicate in English effectively

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to work in hot, muggy, and inclement weather conditions on a continuous basis
  • This position includes (long periods of) climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above
