Job summary

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Office Assistant to keyboard documents and input data into Offender 360 (O360). The role also serves as co-receptionist for Clinical Services, manages mail, and assists the Visitor Coordinator with visiting lists.

Position Overview

IDOC is looking to hire an Office Assistant to keyboard a variety of documents, reports, letters and memos and input data into Offender 360 (O360). In addition, this position will serve as co-receptionist for the Clinical Service staff, receive, sort, open and distribute mail and assist the Visitor Coordinator with various duties. Essential Functions

• Keyboards various documents and reports, parole reports, work release, home monitor and release plans, letters, memos, etc. for the Field Services Unit.
• Inputs data into Offender360 from reports completed by the Clinical and Field Services staff.
• Serves as co-receptionist for the Clinical Services staff.
• Receives, sorts, opens and distributes mail.
• Assists the Visitor Coordinator with checking visiting lists, stop orders, and scanning and saving visiting lists.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
• Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at thirty-five (35) words per minute.

Conditions of Employment

• Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
• Required to utilize digital technology,tools, platforms, and processes inmanaging and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
