Position Overview

IDOC is looking to hire an Office Assistant to process and inspect all individual in custody incoming mail. In addition, they will scan all mail. If you are detail oriented and can ability to multi-task, this position is for you. We strongly encourage all qualified individuals to apply.

Essential Functions
  • Processes and inspects all individuals in custody incoming mail.
  • Opens, sorts, and scans all incoming and outgoing facility mail.
  • Processes Individual in Custody Mail.
  • Accepts and distributes incoming and outgoing facility mail.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
