Job summary

The City of New York, through the New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY), seeks an Investigative Analyst for the Forensic Sciences Unit. The role provides analytical support to ADAs, coordinates DNA case materials, and liaises with FID, OCME, and NYPD to advance DNA-based investigations.

Responsibilities include handling DNA matches, preparing exhibits, and assisting with trial prep. Strong writing, organization, and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 1 year paralegal experience in criminal justice field or equivalent.
• Level 2 requires 2 years; Level 3 requires 3 years.
• Master's degree can substitute for years of experience.
• Experience as a DANY TPA is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage DNA hits and reports and assist ADAs in trial preparation.
• Serve as liaison to FID and OCME and coordinate with NYPD Forensic Investigative Division.
• Maintain logs of received DNA lab reports and notifications.
• Attend NYS Forensic Science Commission meetings and related NYPD meetings.
• Manage DANYNET for FS/CCU library.
• Train paralegals in the DNA Evidence Management Program.
