Job summary

State of Maryland's Forensic Sciences Division invites applications for a full-time contractual position in the Biology Section, located in Pikesville. The role focuses on accessioning and organizing Arrestee and Convicted Offender samples into the statewide DNA database, with expungement duties required by Oct. 1, 2028.

You will assist with batch preparation for testing and support documentation to maintain sample integrity and chain of custody.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or high school equivalency.
• Experience: Two years in administrative functions or handling/inventorying evidence.

Responsibilities

• Destroy expunged samples per the DNA Database Law.
• Process incoming samples with data entry, tracking updates and filing DNA cards.
• Prepare batches of samples for testing by Forensic Scientists.
• Pull samples for expungement or hit confirmation as needed.
