The State of Colorado’s DMV Westgate Office is seeking a friendly DMV Advisor/Greeter to welcome customers, direct them to the right services, and help shorten wait times. You’ll be the first point of contact, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for every visitor.

What We Do

The Driver License section provides Colorado credentials to the residents throughout the state which include driver licenses, instruction permits, commercial driver licenses, and identification cards.

DMV Advisor/Greeter Role

This position will work at the front reception desk, greeting customers as they enter the building and directing them to the appropriate services based on their needs. The purpose of this position is to streamline office services, address customer concerns, and reduce transaction and wait times for customer-facing offices.

This position's main duties revolve around welcoming and advising customers at the Westgate DMV office. This position is the first point of contact with DMV customers establishing the beginning of the customer experience for that office.

  • Acts as the gatekeeper for the office to ensure the smooth workflow for the employees and customers
  • Establishes and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with DMV employees and customers.
  • Assists customers with use of the appointment kiosk, website, online portal or other DMV convenience service offerings.
  • Checks customers in for appointments and any other DMV interactions at the office
  • Works with walk in customers to assist and provide the best customer experience possible
  • Organizes the customer workflow for the office
  • Conducts vision testing as needed
  • Contacting customers as needed
  • Reviewing source documents and other information to ensure the customer is ready to meet with the appropriate technician
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assisting with other office support including stocking and cleaning the greeter/advisor station.

This position reports onsite at the Westgate Driver License Office located at 3265 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227.

Residency Requirement

This posting is only open to residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application. Minimum Qualifications

Experience Only: One (1) year of Customer Service or Receptionist experience or other relevant work experience.

OR

Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant Customer Service or Receptionist experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year

Conditions Of Employment With The CDOR

Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.

Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.

To Be Compliant With The New Fleet Vehicle Policy, Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) Will Be Pulled For Review For Workers Who

  • Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
  • Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
  • Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle

Step Pay Program

Per the requirements of the Step Pay Program, any former or current State employee must be paid a rate that is equal to or greater than the appropriate step pay rate within their classification's pay range based on completed years in their current class series.
