Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) is seeking a Driver License Technician Trainee for the Pueblo Driver License Office. You will learn to issue Colorado driver licenses, permits, and IDs while complying with state statutes and federal laws.
In this onsite role, you will develop skills in document verification, testing administration, and customer service. A structured year of Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) training is provided, with potential promotion to Technician II after certification.

The Driver License section provides Colorado credentials to the citizens throughout the state which include driver licenses, instruction permits, commercial driver licenses, and identification cards.
In this trainee role, you will learn to ensure compliance with Colorado Revised Statutes and Federal laws, Department policies, rules and procedures in the issuance of Colorado documents to qualified applicants. This position reports onsite at the Pueblo Driver License Office, located at 827 W 4th St, Pueblo CO 81003. May be required to travel and work between multiple Driver License Offices.
The successful candidate will be required to sit and stand for long periods throughout the day.

Newly hired (or transferred) Driver License Technician Trainees are designated "in training" for the first year in this position. Driver License Technician Trainees receive Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) training and regular DLF skills evaluations. Before completing one year in position Driver License Technician Trainees are required to complete DLF Certification. After one year in the position, the Trainee may be reallocated to a Technician II. Failure to achieve DLF Certification during the first year in position may result in removal from position and possible termination of employment.
Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence. As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations. Pursuant to the Universal Driving Standards Policy, any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
