Our mission in the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services is to transform young lives by providing evidence-based rehabilitative treatment services and supervision, strengthening the well-being of youth and families, and fostering safe communities.

Each youth will receive appropriate, individualized care to improve their health knowledge and their potential for wellness.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver patient care under the supervision of the Lead Nurse, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Guide patient teaching, nursing activities, and ancillary personnel.
• Promote a customer-friendly environment and provide excellent service to youth, facility staff, families, and outside vendors.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the State of Georgia.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills; good physical and mental health; ability to work under pressure; effective communication with patients, security staff, visitors, and colleagues.
• Compliance with the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act.
• Current Healthcare Provider BCLS Certification through American Heart or Red Cross.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, perform bending, reaching, stooping, and stand or sit for extended periods. Ability to respond quickly in emergencies (within 4 minutes). Normal hearing and vision, with or without correction. Ability to perform BCLS.
• Security Clearance from the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.

Shift, Salary, and Benefits

Shifts vary based on site availability. Candidates must complete pre-employment requirements, including a Criminal History Record Release, Physical Examination, and Drug Screen.
