Job summary

HCA Healthcare seeks a Division Laboratory Quality Coordinator to coordinate and implement the Laboratory Service Line quality program within the South Atlantic Division. The role includes traveling to multiple sites (20-30%) and may be facility-based or work-from-home as needed.

The incumbent will drive quality improvement, safety initiatives, and enterprise standardization while collaborating with corporate and division leaders to enhance reporting and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a clinical laboratory, chemical, biological science or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in clinical laboratory operations and knowledge of lab regulations.
  • 2+ years of quality improvement experience preferred.
  • Clinical licensure in laboratory medicine.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and monitors laboratory quality initiatives across the division.
  • Identify and share best practices to support enterprise standardization.
  • Lead proactive process improvement initiatives and evaluate success using predefined criteria.
  • Advance laboratory safety programs to reduce errors and promote a culture of safety.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to support data analysis, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Monitor quality and risk data across the division and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, CLIA, CAP, and TJC standards.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Seeking a Division Quality Lab Coordinator who will be responsible for coordination and implementation of the Laboratory Service Line quality program in the assigned South Atlantic Division which includes operationalizing laboratory quality initiatives, monitoring quality processes, and ensuring ongoing quality evaluation and improvement. The position covers the respective Division with the expectation of travel to each specific site and may be facility-based or work from home depending on need. Travel expectancy is 20-30%.

You Will:
  • Implements performance monitoring and improvement that support quality and safety initiatives.
  • Assists in identification and communication of “best practices” in the division to support enterprise standardization and sharing.
  • Lead proactive laboratory process improvement initiatives, provide feedback on standardization opportunities, evaluate success through pre-established criteria, and increased involvement of staff and pathology medical directors toward a culture of quality.
  • Lead proactive laboratory safety activities to create hospital laboratories that are highly reliable as reflected in reduced errors, elimination of unsafe processes, and increased involvement of staff and pathology medical directors toward a culture of safety.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Division medical leaders to support data analysis, reporting, process and outcomes improvement. Contributing to ongoing enhancement of enterprise quality reporting methods and dashboards.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate laboratory quality and risk performance data across the division, while noting trends, and identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve.
  • Evaluate compliance with state and federal regulations and standards, including but not limited to CMS, CLIA, CAP, and TJC.
You Should Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory, chemical, biological science or related field is required
  • 1+ year of experience in clinical laboratory with a working knowledge of clinical laboratory laws and regulations
  • 2+ years of experience in quality improvement is preferred
  • Clinical licensure, laboratory medical technology
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership, creativity, and excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to tailor the message to individuals and audiences across the organization.
