City of Watsonville seeks an experienced Division Chief to plan, direct, and coordinate the Operations Division of the Fire Department. This leadership role requires managing daily staffing, developing specifications, and ensuring effective emergency response coordination with other divisions, agencies, and the public.

As acting Fire Chief in the Chief's absence, the Division Chief guides strategic goals, policies, and budgets, and participates in Emergency Operations Center activations.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in fire science, public administration, or related field and completed state-certified fire academy.
• Seven years of fire service experience with five years supervisory/administrative experience; Battalion Chief experience highly desirable.
• Experience coordinating with multiple agencies and managing division budgets and personnel.

Mansioni

• Assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing Fire Department functions.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Operations Division including staffing, specifications, testing, and maintenance policy.
• Direct communications systems, logistics, and equipment management; monitor performance data and safety compliance.
• Develop and implement goals, policies, and procedures for the Division; oversee budget development and expenditures.
• Represent the department at meetings and in community and emergency response activities.
