- Provide strategic direction to achieve the division’s business plan across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions
- Oversee division and regional teams and ensure adherence to VCT-USA’s Ways of Working and company standards
- Drive operational consistency and commercial performance across regions
- Own revenue, shipment and depletion goals across the assigned division
- Translate the annual business plan into actionable steps for division and regional teams
- Manage KPI performance, incentives, programming, pricing, budget compliance and program ROI
- Act as primary VCT-USA lead with key regional distributor leadership
- Ensure alignment between sales execution and key marketing/chain initiatives
- Recruit, train and develop region leads and support roles
- Review shipment performance monthly during Q1–Q3 and weekly during Q4
- Conduct monthly depletion-performance reviews and develop corrective actions
- Conduct monthly budget reviews and vet discretionary spending requests
- Oversee distributor state banks and spending
- Manage distributor relationships with state EVPs, region presidents and network leads
- Attend state QBRs, surveys, focus-brand programs and initiatives
- Spend 50%–60% of time in market
- Visit every state in the division twice per year
- Hold monthly in-person meetings with the team and twice-yearly meetings
- Support team development, business reviews and distributor and chain meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing or related field plus a minimum ten years progressive sales and marketing experience in CPG, wine and spirits, or beverage industry, or equivalent combination education/experience
- At least 5 years in a leadership role with proven success in driving commercial growth
- In-depth knowledge of positioning and marketplace placement
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing distributor partnerships
- Superior leadership and motivational skills with a track record of building high-performing sales teams
- Strong understanding of account development and marketing strategies in the food/beverage environment
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinking, high emotional intelligence, and ability to simplify complex ideas
- Professional presence with optimism, sound judgment, and collaborative approach
- Ability to influence through credibility rather than authority; low ego, high integrity
- Goal-oriented, results-driven, and thrives in dynamic environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to be insured
- Travel throughout the region required; overnight travel approximately 30%–40%
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 30 lbs. frequently
- MBA preferred
- Adult beverage industry experience in sales leadership roles preferred
- Wine certification/education a plus
- Experience growing revenue in import and/or organic categories advantageous
- Circana/Nielsen information experience a plus
- Familiarity with KARMA/iDig or similar CRM/sales execution platforms advantageous
- Requires successful completion of criminal background, DMV check and drug screen
- Must submit verification of citizenship or legal right to work in the United States at offer stage
