Blythe Construction, Inc. seeks a Division Controller to manage the financial operations of the Construction Division in Charlotte, NC.

The role oversees the division's monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities, while leading a team of AP accountants and coordinating with project managers and engineers. The position requires strong management experience, budgeting expertise, and proficiency with SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Requires experience in managing and leading a finance team.
• Experience with budgeting and cost control.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and present results to executives.
• Analyze financial reports and develop strategies to support company goals.
• Oversee day-to-day division finances and supervision of staff.
• Supervise a team of 3 AP accountants.
• Manage month/quarter/year-end close processes for the division.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for the division and present them to the executive team.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers on budgeting and cost control.
• Travel to jobsites as needed to monitor on-site finances.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and support internal/external audits.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and confidentiality of financial information.

Title: Division Controller

Reports to: Delegation Controller

Location: Charlotte, NC - Office environment

General Description:

The Division Controller position performs a combination of the duties described more fully below. The primary responsibility will be to manage all financial aspects of the Construction Division.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and communicate results to executives.
• Analyze financial reports and develop new financial strategies to achieve company goals.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the division's finances.
• Supervise a team of 3 AP accountants.
• Manage the completion of the month/quarter/year-end close for the division.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for the division and present them to the executive team.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers on project budgeting and cost control.
• Travel to jobsites as needed.
• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Support Corporate with internal and external financial audits.
• Ensure security, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
• Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required.

Authorities:

The Division Controller has full authority to perform his/her duties; however, they must consult with the necessary Manager in the following matters:

When things vary from the normal processes

When any problems occur

Any threat of litigation or situations that may lead to litigation

Any matter that may affect the interest of the company

Non-compliance with reporting requirements to regulatory authorities

Requirements:

• SAP experience is a plus
• Management experience
• Proficiency with MS Office Suites
