Job summary

Baylor Scott and White Health in Temple, TX, invites an experienced physician to become Division Chief of Supportive and Palliative Care. The role leads a multidisciplinary team and oversees inpatient and outpatient care at our 600-bed tertiary/quaternary facility.

The Chief will guide a mature SPC program with academic links, research development, and potential Hospice leadership, reporting to the Chair of Medicine and dedicating time to administrative and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Medicine required.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Texas.
• Board certification or active pursuit of certification in Palliative Medicine per ABMS/BOS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 6 faculty physicians, 3 APPs and 1 fellow in inpatient and outpatient SPC at a 600-bed hospital in Temple.
• Oversee development of the SPC program and collaborations with Inpatient Medicine, Geriatrics, Oncology and Heart Transplant.
• Report to the Chair of Medicine and oversee administrative/leadership duties with protected time and potential research/hospice involvement.

Education

Doctorate Degree in Medicine

Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Palliative Medicine
