The Division Chief will provide leadership to 46 UCSF faculty and collaborate across UCSF Health sites to advance patient care, research, education, and public service.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree with board certification/eligibility in gastroenterology or hepatology.
• California medical license or eligibility.
• Proven leadership, mentorship and scholarly track record.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Division's clinical programs and growth.
• Lead faculty academic affairs with clear performance expectations and accountability across research, education, clinical care, and service.
• Recruit, mentor, develop and retain outstanding faculty, staff and trainees.
• Ensure continued excellence and growth of fellowship programs.
• Provide fiscal leadership through budget oversight and financial planning.
• Advance the Division's reputation via translational and clinical research and high-impact publications.
• Foster engagement, inclusion, collaboration, and wellbeing across UCSF and affiliates.
