Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA seeks a Division Chief of Pediatric Neurology. The role leads operations, safety, quality, and recruitment, with responsibility for the division's budget and strategic direction within a major academic health system.

The candidate will guide medical education, faculty advancement, and clinical/QI research while maintaining clinical duties alongside a full-time child neurologist and inpatient consults at Baystate Medical Center.

Qualifications

• AMBS BC pediatric neurology.
• 5+ years' progressive management responsibilities in an academic department.
• Faculty appointment to UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement strategy for operations, safety, quality, and recruitment/retention.
• Understand and monitor the division's budget and financial operations.
• Participate in the senior leadership team for departmental and children's hospital strategy.
• Promote an environment of accountability, innovation, and agility.
• Lead engagement in medical education for residents and medical students.
• Guide and monitor the academic advancement of faculty.
• Cultivate and facilitate clinical and QI research initiatives.
• Lead high reliability culture of safety, quality and performance improvement.
• Practice clinically with the full-time child neurologist; inpatient consults at Baystate Medical Center.
