PulteGroup Inc. in Myrtle Beach, SC, seeks an experienced Division Assistant Controller to support the Controller in directing the accounting department, including AP, payroll, job cost, and general ledger functions, in accordance with GAAP and internal controls.

You will help prepare departmental, housing, capital asset, land development, and cash flow budgets; forecast revenue and profit; ensure timely internal and external reporting; coordinate with auditors and tax compliance; and oversee

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting/finance.
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Strong knowledge of cash flows, financial reports, and annual reports.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage long-term projects.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise the Accounting Department including AP, Subcontractor Payables, Payroll, Housing Receivables, job cost and general ledger to GAAP and policy.
Assist Controller in preparing departmental budgets, housing, capital asset, land development, and cash flow budgets.
Assist in financial forecasting and budget vs. actual analysis.
Assist in meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for internal and external users.
Assist in overseeing tax returns (Personal Property, Sales/Use, Real Estate).
Design and implement procedures to assure policy compliance.
Coordinate with internal/external auditors and respond to audit reports.
Approve expenditures and invoices within company guidelines.
Work with managers to ensure consistent GL application and cost coding.
