Job summary

APTURA Group in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Project Manager to oversee door, frame, and hardware installation projects, ensuring schedules and job specifications are met, including security and life-safety needs.

The role involves managing submittals, creating purchase and work orders, coordinating with customers, architects, and suppliers, and supporting the sales team. It is a full-time position with salary plus commission and a hybrid office/remote work arrangement.

Qualifications

• PM experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in commercial construction is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage projects from start to finish.
• Create submittals for review by GC/architect.
• Create purchase orders and work orders; track shipments and deliveries.
• Coordinate effectively with customers, coworkers, and suppliers to keep on schedule.
• Learn technical aspects of door, frame, and hardware industry to assist customers.

JobSummary— The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the project by adhering to the construction schedules for delivery and installation of customized doors, frames, door hardware and specialty packages that meet job specifications including the security and life-safety requirements.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Once the project is sold, create a submittal to be reviewed by the general contractor and/or architect.
• Manage the project from beginning to end.
• Create purchase orders and work orders for the products and services on the project.
• Effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and suppliers to ensure products and services are on schedule. Respond in a timely manner so that customers, coworkers, and suppliers receive the information needed to provide the correct products and services to keep the project moving.
• Continuously learn the technical aspects of the door, frame, and hardware industry and become a resource for our customers’ needs.
• Assist the sales manager with daily sales and administrative duties as needed.
• Participate in meetings with the customer, architect, and/or owner at their office or jobsite.

Experience

• Experience in project management is preferred but not required.
• Experience in the commercial construction industry is preferred.
• Experience in the commercial door, frame, and hardware industry is preferred, but not required.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred or a combination of post-high school education and work experience.

Additional Details

• Position is full time – 40 hours / week – extra hours as needed
• Position is salaried with opportunities for commission.
• Location: Indianapolis, IN (mixture of in-office and remote work)
• Position reports to the Special Projects sales manager.
