• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Comsense ERP is a plus.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work full-time from our Charlotte-area office.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background check

DFH Commercial is a specialized Division 8 distributor serving commercial construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Founded in 2015 by four experienced industry professionals, the company has grown to more than 30 employees while building its business around long-term relationships, repeat customers, and strong project execution.

Headquartered in Lorton, Virginia, DFH provides commercial doors, frames, and hardware for projects across the country. Our team works with a broad range of manufacturers, general contractors, owners, and industry partners to deliver complete Division 8 solutions.

Our Charlotte-area operation was established to support DFH’s growing presence throughout the Southeast and has since developed into a full project management office. As that business continues to expand, we’re investing in additional space, people, and long-term growth in the market.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Charlotte-area office and manage commercial door, frame, and hardware projects from contract award through completion.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who understands commercial construction, takes ownership of their projects, and knows how to build strong relationships with customers and vendors. You’ll have the backing and resources of an established company while working within a growing office where your impact can be significant.

For the right person, this role also offers an opportunity to help shape the continued growth of our Charlotte‑area operation. Someone with Division 8 experience, strong local relationships, business development experience, and leadership potential will have room to take on greater responsibility as the office grows.

Minimal travel. The majority of the role is performed from our Charlotte‑area office. Site visits and field measurements are occasionally required, but travel is not a major part of the position.

Experienced leadership. All four DFH founders started as project managers themselves. Our leadership team understands the demands of the position and the support required to manage projects successfully.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of projects from contract award through delivery and completion. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and interpreting contract documents, architectural drawings, and specifications for commercial door, frame, and hardware scopes
• Performing material takeoffs and preparing accurate, complete submittal packages for architect review
• Negotiating contract values and scopes of work with general contractors and owners
• Writing and tracking material orders through production and shipping
• Coordinating deliveries with field and installation teams
• Managing and growing relationships with local contractors, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Troubleshooting issues on active projects and developing solutions that keep work moving
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, communication, and schedule
• Helping identify opportunities to expand DFH’s relationships and presence throughout the Charlotte and Southeast markets

DFH works with all major manufacturers, giving our project managers broad product access and the flexibility to develop the right solution for each project.

What This Role Is — and Isn’t

This is primarily a Project Management position, but the opportunity in Charlotte goes beyond project execution.

Our estimating team supports the bidding process, while our Project Managers take ownership of awarded work and the customer relationships that come with it. In this office, we place additional value on someone who understands the local market and can help strengthen and expand those relationships over time.

If you already know the contractors, subcontractors, and local vendors reps working throughout the Charlotte area—or you’ve combined project management with business development in a previous role— that experience will be especially valuable here.

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who is organized, accountable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
