Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Assistant Coach for Diving to support the head coach in recruiting, mentoring student-athletes, and coordinating athletic operations for the diving program.

The role emphasizes developing student-athletes academically and athletically while adhering to NCAA and university policies. The position includes coordinating travel, camps, and fundraising activities within a Division I program.

Qualifications

• Requires two years of Division 1 related coaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required certifications: None.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the recruitment and retention of prospective student-athletes, including evaluation, visits, and contacts.
• Mentor student-athletes to support athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth.
• Gather, prepare, and present scouting materials.
• Assist with home event planning, practice planning, skill development, and game-day strategy.
• Assist with team travel planning, purchasing, inventory, and equipment care.
• Plan and execute sport camps and coordinate visiting team requests.
• Work with former athletes and alumni relations, maintain stats.
• Supervise student managers and other staff; represent head coach at events.
• Assist with booster clubs and fundraising; manage media responses.
