Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Sayreville, NJ seeks an aquarist to care for animals and operate the Life Support System for exhibits. The role includes SCUBA cleaning of tanks, feeding shows, and coordinating water quality testing while engaging guests with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities include maintenance of LSS, record-keeping, diet preparation, and occasional travel to support collection management. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• Certified scuba diver (must provide copy of dive certification).
• Certified First Aid / CPR / AED.
• Clean driving record and must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Previous experience working with elasmobra nchs preferred.
• Limited mechanical and plumbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains animal life support systems: plumbing, pumps, filters, heaters.
• Maintains familiarity with LSS electrical, plumbing & mechanical systems.
• Completes items on maintenance schedule.
• Performs fish feeding shows (diving and narration).
• Assists in record keeping for exhibits and holding tanks.
• Prepares and distributes diets for all animals.
