New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision seeks an Equal Opportunity Specialist (EOS) 3 to act as Assistant Director/Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator, reporting to EOS 4. The role includes overseeing compliance with EEO, Civil Rights, and Human Rights provisions and coordinating DEI initiatives across the department.

The position supports the Five-Year DEI Strategic Plan, advises on discrimination matters, and collaborates with multiple offices.

Qualifikationen

• Eight years of experience in equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, or human rights.
• At least one year of the experience must have been at a supervisory level.
• Substitution: associate’s degree may substitute for two years; bachelor’s degree for four years; and J.D. or master’s degree for five years.
• Experience with policy development and interagency collaboration.

Aufgaben

• Oversee compliance with EO 187 and EEO/Civil Rights requirements.
• Coordinate DEI strategic plan implementation with CDMAC and facilities.
• Advise on complaints and litigation related to civil/human rights.
• Develop and revise policies related to diversity and inclusion.
• Represent the department on the State Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Council.
• Coordinate diversity and inclusion activities across Central Office, regional offices, and facilities.
• Plan and conduct training on DEI topics.
• Recruitment outreach and data reporting.
