Job summary

Intermediate District 287 District Service Center in Plymouth, MN seeks a Student and Staff Safety Manager to lead district-wide safety and crisis response efforts. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Health, Safety, & Security and includes supervisory responsibilities for safety training programs and cross-agency coordination.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years’ experience with individuals with disabilities or complex needs, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, social science, psychology, applied behavior analysis, or related field.
• Two years of experience with individuals with disabilities and/or complex needs.
• Successful completion of a program providing specialized training in safety and crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and evaluate staff injury reports and respond appropriately.
• Serve as liaison with law enforcement, medical, fire, and first responders for crisis training and collaboration.
• Facilitate and support the Return-to-Work program.
• Coach staff on complex student behavior and evidence-based solutions.
• Promote equitable safety practices and positive learning outcomes through social-emotional learning and restorative practices.
