Job summary

Trenton Public Schools is seeking certified Special Education Teachers for multiple districtwide opportunities. We are especially interested in candidates qualified to teach secondary Mathematics, Science, and English/ELA.

Position Type: Full-Time (10-Month Employee). Salary Range: $71,525 – $117,475 annually. Benefits: Eligible for Medical, Prescription, Dental, and enrollment in the applicable New Jersey State Pension Program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification or eligibility for the appropriate certification.
• New Jersey Special Education certification required.
• Secondary level: Students with Disabilities (2475) with a content-area endorsement (English 1410, Math 1900, Biological Science 2210, Chemistry 2270, Earth Science 2220, Physical Science 2240, Physics 2260).
• NJDOE certificate must be valid at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements written instructional plans meeting diverse student needs.
• Maintains a classroom environment that supports learning and is developmentally appropriate.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives.
• Demonstrates commitment to district education philosophy and professional conduct.
• Establishes positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Building Principal.
